Outdoor Motion Lights – Excellent Additions:
Posted on July 31st, 2009 1 commentEveryone has seen those pesky motion senor lights in movies – you know, the ones where the homeowners wake up each and every time a cat walks past or a tree sways in the wind?
Thankfully, motion sensor lights have come a long way since then (despite TV audiences still having to put up with that past stereotype). Nowadays you are able to purchase outdoor motion lights which only activate when a human being walks into the sensors field.
How do these work? Basically, the idea is that the sensor picks up any infrared signals that are given off by heat from a human body. When these are picked up, the light is activated.
This reduces the number of false alarms because it is heat activated, rather than motion activated - meaning that trees will not set the lights off.
